I agree that the possible Cuellar sighting is an interesting aspect of the story. I assumed the people seeing Cuellar were those working with him. The problem with Cuellar in the room is that no professional, including Henry Lee thought the crime scene suggested a murder.

Thank you for your analysis! I agree that the doc severely under-reported Danny's emotional and health problems, and severely over-connected disparate crime stories from across the country, but two concerns: (A) Joseph Cuellar was reported in the Reno report as:

On the day Casolaro died, August 10, 1991,

Cuellar was in Washington, D.C., working on his "outprocessing"

from Desert Storm, and his "in-processing" into the Southern

Command. Several witnesses can verify that Cuellar was in

Washington on August 10, 1991.

...but in a DOJ memo as having been in Panama:

You highlight "several witnesses" as backing up Cuellar's story, but they're not named in the Reno report, and the death occurred overnight, and Martinsburg is only 90 minutes away anyway.

(B) The doc contributed the Mary Lenhert sighting of a dark-haired man entering Danny's room. Reno report says:

At about 9:00 p.m., Mary Lehnert, one of the occupants of

Room 515, saw someone matching Casolaro's general description

enter Room 517 with a key. She did not see the person's face, as

his back was to her. He was carrying a brown paper bag.

...but the doc uncovered Mary's original: "also had dark hair" ... "this was not the man [we] saw in the hall Friday night... we never saw Mr. Casolara or the other gentleman again."
