A masterpiece, James is a significantly better journalist than Eli or Bari who certainly appear to be compromised at best.

Initially I had high hopes for Bari Weiss and her new publication, but when she tried to slime someone as a “toady” on Joe Rogan, -it might have been Tulsi Gabbard - but couldn’t define “toady”, she lost me forever. She’s just another propagandist in my opinion.

Ben:

I mentioned that in order to understand the beginning of her career. And her first two jobs. This is how she got into journalism. And when she split with the NY Times, many thought this was part of a scheme to develop her own conservative site. And that seems to have been the case. Which explains Mr. Lake. Its true that some conservatives do not care where the chips fall in the JFK case. I do not think that is true here.

I know you will not tolerate your Substack comments section becoming sewer for anti-Semitic crackpots.

Most JFKA researchers don't give a hoot about someone's race, religion, politics or ideology...we just want to know what happened.

If a Marxist-intersectional feminist releases the JFK Records, then I will salute her.

Embarrassing.

But MSM is still bad also. Morley recently outlined a WaPo story that one of Trump's "peeves" is opening up the JFK Records.

It never stops.

I fully understand different people having different conclusions regarding the JFKA, its origins and mechanics.

But who could be against opening up the JFK Records?

do you have a link for Wapo story, or title? It's gonna be a problem if Trump doesn't really want to. After all who could be against...like they have been doing for 60 years. The harder they fight the more it seems to me there is something important in there.

You can google the Post article by using the name Marvin Watson and LBJ, CIA report. As per the original Lake article that is at her site Free Press on the date I mentioned, but I think its behind a wall, as is the Post piece.

I was troubled by DiEugenio's prominent reference to Weiss' Zionism, as if that played a role in her take on the JFK Records. I thought I would just let it go.

But I see some comments here think Weiss' Zionism is important. I don't see how it is. Trump is also a Zionist, and his administration may open up the Records. We shall see.

A Marxist and a libertarian can both call for opening the JFK Records, and many have. A Muslim might call for the opening up of the JFK Records, and many Jews already have, including Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee (Cohen may be a lapsed Jew; I know little about him).

I sure hope the JFKA research community does not become a cesspool for anti-Semitic crackpots and Israel Derangement Syndromers. Some of that is going on at the Educational Foundation JFK Debate room, and it is most unpleasant.

BTW, JFK was also a Zionist.

"Senator John F. Kennedy gave a speech at the Zionist Organization of America (Z.O.A.) convention in New York City on August 26, 1960. In his speech, he discussed the importance of US support for Israel, the role of the Democratic Party, and the need for peace in the Middle East.

Key points from Kennedy's speech

The World Zionist movement has turned dreams into acts of statesmanship.

Israel is a triumph and enduring reality that has given new hope to the persecuted.

The Democratic Party has a special obligation to continue the tradition of friendship for Israel.

Israel asks for peace, no more, a peace that will enable the desert to "rejoice and blossom as the rose".

We must make clear to both the Israelis and the Arabs our guarantee that we will act with whatever force and speed is necessary to halt any aggression by any nation."

---30---

I don't know if JFK could have brought peace to the Middle East. He was earnest if a bit naive, and by some accounts the Syrians scuttled JFK's peace plan by refusing to recognize Israel. Which they have not to this day.

The Sunni and Shiites have been slaughtering each other for 1,400 years, and any other "infidels" unlucky enough to get in the crosshairs.

Religious biases and hatreds are very deep.

Sadly, I do not see peace coming to the Middle East, maybe ever.

But that has little to do with the JFK Records Act.
