From W. Green author of the novel: Saving JFK. So...after JFK pretended to be shot, he crawled through the secret panel into the trunk and hid, just like the Hardy Boys in The Shore Road Mystery. Now he’s out of sight in the dark, breathing heavily, but still “WW2-PT 109 Veteran cool”. Is he sharing the trunk with the body of Tippit dressed in matching JFK attire? Does he then slide Tippit’s body, its face covered with blood, through the secret panel, passing it off to Jackie, who cradles it in her arms? No… wait...Tippit was seen making phone calls at a public phone miles away when the dead “Tippit” was supposedly being hugged by Jackie in the back seat on the death ride to Parkland. I suppose the real Tippit could have been killed before JFK arrived in Dallas and then placed in the trunk by a team of government conspirators. No...that wouldn’t work. Too complicated.
Best case…JFK stayed in the trunk alone, maybe nursing a bottle of Irish whiskey, knowing the Tippit-JFK body had been delivered to the hospital earlier. It waited on ice in a back room at Parkland.
Upon arrival at the hospital, concealed within a ring of Secret Service agent conspirators surrounding the arriving car, the old switcheroo was made, and the new “JFK” was rolled into the emergency room. Given Tippit’s resemblance to JFK, the doctors assumed they were working on the body of the President.
Later when Air Force One landed in Washington, two caskets were removed from the plane. One contained Tippit’s body, and the other held the alive-and-well JFK wearing scuba gear air tanks. While Tippit’s body is dissected in the sham autopsy, a smiling JFK pops out of the second casket and is taken into a safe room by his Navy buddies at Bethesda. Mission accomplished.
My condolences to Mrs. Tippit (someone had to take the fall), and more tears for Dorothy Kilgallen and all the other nosy reporters and witnesses rubbed out afterward. Congrats to JFK, his place in history and sex life maintained, who was recently seen being embraced by Donald Trump.
